dbmigrate is a local-first desktop and CLI product family with separate PostgreSQL 13–17 and MySQL 8.0/8.4 LTS editions. It compares and selectively synchronizes schemas within the same database engine, and supports filtered, referential data copying with masking. It is not a cross-engine conversion tool. The listed annual price is $99 USD per developer seat for one engine edition, installable on up to two devices; online checkout is not available yet.
Flyway and Liquibase commonly use versioned change files, while dbmigrate compares live schemas and generates a synchronization plan. Flyway also documents state-based deployment, schema comparison, and drift analysis; availability depends on edition and database. These workflows solve related but different problems: versioned change history and live-state reconciliation are not interchangeable. Choose based on your release process and governance needs.
dbmigrate may fit teams that want a focused schema-promotion workflow plus selected, referential data refresh and in-memory masking. pgAdmin and MySQL Workbench have their own database-management workflows and edition models. Compare the exact features and supported database versions you need; dbmigrate offers separate PostgreSQL and MySQL products, not one cross-engine license.
Yes. The headless dbmt CLI executes the same comparison, planning, and verification logic as the desktop application. With deterministic exit codes (0 for in-sync, 1 for drift detected, 2 for connection errors, 3 for safety violations), you can gate pull requests and deployments in GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or pre-commit hooks.
